Most states have direct access laws now, so you CAN go directly to a PT - though you may have to pay out of pocket, depending on your insurance. Looks like your state does allow it: https://www.resultspt.com/blog/posts/updated-direct-access-laws-in-tennessee Also, a lot of the better PTs I know here prefer that, and/or don't do insurance filing, so that might be interesting.
