Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?

Well, I didn't really predict anything. Perhaps more fic, but shorter than usual because I briefly got into drabble-type things?

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2003?

Well, I probably could've predicted SG-1 in January, as I was already reading fic for it--and because half of my Farscape-Shippers list twins and sisters were completely addicted to it--but I didn't start writing it until May. I suppose the SG-1/Harry Potter "crossover" kind of counts, as well. And I figured I would eventually end up writing SAJV fic at some point, so that wasn't really a surprise. I don't think there were any new pairings or genres or anything like that...

What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest.

Hmmm... *thinks long and hard* I think it's a toss-up between "The Christmas Spirit," "Wide Unto Life," "Being Real," and possibly "Farskate." TCS is possibly my only sappy work that I can actually look at and not cringe; WUL I like because I got the atmosphere just the way I wanted; BR because I still love the concept and the angst, and Farskate because it was my first (and so far only) real, true, and long parody.

Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.) What did you learn from them?

Um. Did I take risks this year? Maybe having a PG-13 fic (and that's probably a harsh rating) for the first time instead of sticking only to G and PG.

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?

Finish the things that are clogging up the fic folder. *remembers that fic folder is ~5.5 megabytes* Er, well, some of the things clogging up the fic folder. Nothing specific, just whatever strikes my fancy next year.

Gonna be in the fiction class this semester, so there's gonna be some original stuff out of that, and I've heard that they tend to do a few short pieces at the beginninng, then spend the second half of the course, working on a 30-50 page piece. So hopefully something will come out of that, either complete or something I can build on later. And then in the fall, I'll be at Exeter, where they have a screenwriting class! Hee!
