A quick search on Google turned up <a href-"http://www.cwol.com/firewire/firewire-vs-usb.htm">this page</a>, which says that FireWire is faster. I have no idea if that's actually true, but the page's explanation makes sense.
Plus the Dell one isn't Mac-compatible. I couldn't use it anyway. ;)
