So, yeah. Phling was last night, woowoo, etc. etc. No, seriously, it was good. The theme was Pirates of the Caribbean, so they had a giant cardboard pirate ship that was actually kind of spooky, palm trees made out of rope lights, various beach scene backdrops, netting all over the place, and probably more that I missed. Eyepatches with a skull and crossed swords on them were given out at the door. Mine is now pinned on my bulletin board.

My skirt/shirt combo was ever-so-vaguely pirate lass, in that both pieces were black, the skirt had a zaggy hemline, and I wore a sparkly red necklace, sparkly red butterfly clips, black fishnets, and my shoes that have a vaguely colonial shoebuckle on them like they kind seen in PotC. (I'm stretching here, all right?)

This theme gave the guys, especially, a chance to dress up in something besides your average suit and tie. Some took more advantage of it than others. Ian went all out was Captain Jack Sparrow, but I couldn't find him in the crowd to get a picture.

We (Chandra, Ellen and I) went mostly to hear Whitney play in Potato Famine, the Irish band. And they were very, very cool. Chandra and I danced a couple reels, which attracted a decent-sized crowd of people who wanted to be taught step dance, which Chandra did. (I was kind of like the T(eaching) A(ssistant). Sort of.) The SCA crowd also did a couple circle dances, which were fun to watch. Mmmm, clap dance.

We hung around for a little after Potato Famine finished, mostly to take pictures.

And if you recognize Chandra's dress, yeah, it's mine. As are any hair things you can see. :)

Around midnight, we regrouped back in Chandra's suite and watched Edward Scissorhands. I think it was for the Johnny Depp connection. Or something. Anyway, yeah. So that went on a while, and I finally tumbled into bed around 3 in the morning, not to rise again until 11. So don't wanna go to class tomorrow...
