Glad I'm not the only one that lack of hills/flat horizon = freak out.
I think most people who aren't raised in such an environment freak out to some extent when they're faced with it. Living in the Nashville basin makes me think it's odd not to see hills and ridges rising up all around me. And yeah, the lack of trees might have something to do with it...there's a lot of farmland around Columbus.
Another thing that's weird is not seeing the rock walls all around the roads where they've just blasted through the limestone instead of going over it. None of that in the midwest. It wasn't something I really noticed until I came back for my first break last year.
