I hope, anyway. I finally got off my butt and moved away from the pre-coded colors that LJ has and, after a lot of trial and error, managed to figure out the HTML designations for the colors I wanted and which fields to put them in. (I use a program that has a color wheel to make webpages. That six-character HTML color thing is a completely foreign concept to me.) I also added a background image from MorgueFile, which is an excellent free stock photography site. So now, even though it's high summer outside, my LJ and my friends page look all cool and icy. (Wanted to use one of my Kenyon photos, but I didn't really have anything that looked good.) Oh, and I figure skating-ized my comments links. (Double axels and flying camels, wooo!)

Like? No like? This is about as complicated as it's gonna get for the forseeable future, 'cause I think if I tried to create my own style (can you even do that with a free account?), my head would explode. An HTML code warrior I am not. Me like simple point-and-click type stuff that lets you make pretty things without learning a whole new language.

The sky is slowly starting to turn that deep autumn blue that's so pretty. Stephanie Peterson (remember her, [livejournal.com profile] fiara?) used to call it "Colorado blue" when we were in elementary and middle school. Another one of the many reasons fall is my favorite season. Hmmm, now that I just finished winterizing my LJ, I kind of feel the desire to autumnize it. Pretty reds and yellows...

Naomi Lang and Peter Tchernyshev are "taking a break from competitive skating." Waaah! Who am I going to drool over at US nationals this year?? *pout* Granted, with the blond hair dye, Peter dropped way down on the porn list last season, but his hair was still long and he was still hot! I guess I can still drool over Matt Savoie and Johnny Weir, even if their hair isn't as long, but it won't be the same, 'cause the singles skaters just don't have the same porn sensability that the ice dancers do. And there's still the international events all the rest of the season, with pretty French and Russian and German skaters. Hey, maybe we'll see Pechalat & Bourzat (the Anissina/Peizerat clones) this year! *writes letters to ABC* *wonders if Gambier's cable service is close enough to the Canadian border to get Canadian channels*

Ahem. And now, in case you were wondering, you know why my username is "icepixie." Yep. This is what made me lose my anti-hormone title.

Spent the afternoon at K-Mart today. The good thing about sophomore year at college is that I bought or inherited a lot of the reusable stuff I need (towels, fridge, microwave, shower shoes, desk lamps, etc. etc.) last year, but they haven't broken or worn out yet, so this year all I had to get was laundry soap and notebooks and stuff like that that needs to be replaced. (KMart has one-subject notebooks for 13 cents and binders for a buck now, BTW, if anyone's in the market for those kinds of things. Yay back to school sales which come even earlier in Nashville 'cause the K-12 students go back Monday! God, I hated that when I was still a part of this school system. Although we usually got out before Memorial Day, so that was good, too...) I also got some pretty tank tops and various underwear-type things. I really, really like this greenish tank top that has gold jewels on it and a faded old-time circus theme goin' on. It says "Acrobat At Heart"--which I am most certainly not, but it's pretty anyway--on the front, with a little poem about being an acrobat underneath.

I can't believe I have exactly three weeks until classes start at Kenyon. There's something wrong with that.
