It don't mean a cotton-pickin' thing...
Jan. 13th, 2004 12:48 pmMy "Southern Horoscope":
BOLL WEEVIL (Feb 20 - Mar 20)
You have an overwhelming curiosity. You're unsatisfied with the surface of things, and you feel the need to bore deep into the interior of everything. Needless to say, you are very intense and driven as if you had some inner hunger. Nobody in their right mind is going to marry you, so don't worry about it.
Heh. Sounds about right... Find yours here. Then click on "humor" on the menu bar for more amusing things.

Good grief, I'm never gonna get any work done ever again while I can stare at that. Maybe it's a good thing I'm not taking it back to school with me...
Mom and I were gonna do the renewal FAFSA and PROFILE today, but we realized (for the third year in a row) that, oh yeah, can't do it before all the various tax forms for 2003 arrive. You'd think one of us would remember that we've never been able to do this before the beginning of February. And this year we definitely can't do anything until I go back next week, 'cause I have to bug the financial aid office about whether I need to fill out anything differently because I'll be studying abroad all next year.
Anyway, now I don't have to do that today. So I'm flitting back and forth between my big Farscape AU thingy and a scene from some original fic I've been metaphorically kicking around in my head. It's ridiculously derivative (waaaay too much Tolkien last week), but hey, if that kid who wrote Eragon can come out and say "I took all the things I liked about fantasy novels and put them in a book" and still make a big splash, I guess it's not so bad. I'll consider it a stepping stone towards something more original.
Oh, and this SAJV plotbunny keeps coming up and demanding my attention, saying things like, "I'll only be three or four pages...you could finish me in a couple of hours...you know you wanna write me..."
Stupid plotbunnies.
Muse has again buggered off to Bali, so I'm not really getting anything accomplished. So annoying. I may just give up and go back to reading A Game of Thrones...I put it down yesterday after the first Daenerys chapter 'cause I was completely creeped out by Viserys. That whole situation is reminding me vaguely of Gayle Greeno's The Ghatti's Tale trilogy--I remember Vesey as being inbred and insane. Then again, the last time I looked at one of those books was seven or eight years ago, so I don't really know.
Hmmm...I could go answer the e-mail backlog that has mysteriously appeared in my inbox... *wanders off*
