"A Pamplona..."
Feb. 18th, 2004 06:13 pmSo I'm reading about French domination of Spain under Napoleon. The city of Pamplona comes up. I'm immediately transported back to seventh and eighth grade Spanish 1 and that ridiculous song we had to learn: "A Pamplona hemos de ir, con una media, con una media, A Pamplona hemos de ir, con una media y un calcetín!"
Why people are going to Pamplona with a stocking and a sock is beyond me, but apparently they felt strongly enough about it to write that silly song.
It's even worse than "Uno de enero, dos de febraro, tres de marzo, cuatro abril; cinco de mayo, seis de junio [something something] San Fermín!" Gah.
