Related question for icon-makers and other digarts people: anyone know of a scrolly font that's oriented more horizontally than vertically, yet isn't scrunched together. Scriptina and Zapfino would be examples of vertically oriented; Azariel, Baraquiel, Adine Kirnberg, and Dobkin are the more like what I want, but they're often too scrunched. I could just fiddle with the width value in the characters palette of PS, but I'm lazy. ;) Also, anyone know where to get a copy of Carpenter for free? My copy that I got from abstractfonts went away when my computer died last March, and now I can only find it online for $30. :(

And as I suspected, I did do something to my wrist when I feel off my chair last week. The cyst is just lurking there, coming up ever so slowly. It doesn't hurt as badly as it did the last time, so I'm hoping to keep it down if I stay off the computer for a while. Yeah, we'll see how long that lasts... ;) Maybe I'll just go on a binge of really long fics, which only require my left index finger to scroll down with the arrow key? *sigh*

(Oh, and RIP my Rebecca/snerk icon and my Aeryn in her Prowler icon. But pretty ones replacing them... :))

Ha!

So has anyone seen the new photos of the wraiths at Gateworld? They look like... )

Okay, I know I said I was going to let my wrist rest today and stay off the computer, but...well, yeah. Like that happens. ;) Anyway, I discovered how to use the layout grid in GoLive, and OH MY GOD, that thing makes my life ten million times easier! It's almost exactly like using PageMaker or Quark XPress, but in a web editor! Aaaaahhh! *hugs layout grid* Note to self: hunt through manual for references to this wonderful device.

Also, discovered how to play around with the "contour" option in Photoshop when bevelling or adding a drop shadow/outer glow/inner glow to a layer. Lots and lots of neat effects. Ah! So awesome! :)

All of this was discovered while finally updating my icons page. Now it's all new and shiny.
