Dancing around the room
Aug. 7th, 2004 09:59 pmOy. So there's an on-going discussion on sheppard_n_weir about beaches on Atlantis, and of course, this being sheppard_n_weir, someone quickly mentioned "Sex on the Beach." And I still have that Venga Boys song running through my head. (The lyrics are not merely suggestive; they skip right over that in favor of hilariously bad euphemism. Google them for yourself and laugh at the cheese.) Even worse, that song makes me want to do Samba--well, the approximately eight steps that I know--and I suck horribly at Samba on so many levels it's not even funny. I was trying to move on to something else--Rumba or Waltz or Cha-cha or anything--and it's. Not. Working. So now I'm trying to find other Sambas, at least. *sigh* My kingdom for a Samba that doesn't involve Ricky Martin, Ace of Base, or the Venga Boys.

Watched a movie called Charlotte Gray tonight. It was interesting in that it related to my big fat term paper for last semester's French History class--this one was about an English spy in WWII, and I wrote my paper on French women spying and being couriers for the Resistance--and that the scenery was pretty (as was Billy Crudup, despite the freakish resemblance to a guy from last semester's Russian Lit class). The rest of it was tolerable enough to sit through, anyway.
