Because [livejournal.com profile] vallentine said I had to...

You're stuck inside Fahrenheit 451, which book do you want to be?

Wait, why would I want to be a book in 451F? I'd be burnt! Ack!

Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character?

I'll admit to being another Ivan Vorpatril groupie.

The last book you bought is:

I bought Andrea Levy's Small Island the other day for class. It's surprisingly good, especially as everything I know about Caribbean immigration to England comes from watching Big Life. The last book I bought for fun was Mark Helprin's Winter's Tale last week, and oh, it's pretty.

The last book you read:

Um...Animal Farm for Satire. I'm trying to remember the last book I completed for fun, but I'm not having much luck. It might be Pratchett's Eric, which amused me greatly after suffering through that Faust class last year.

What are you currently reading?

The two I mentioned in question 3. And I still haven't finished Sarah Zettel's The Firebird's Vengeance, George R. R. Martin's A Storm of Swords, or Owen Wister's The Virginian (which I totally started in, like August...).

Five books you would take to a deserted island:

I HATE these questions! ARGH! Um...there would have to be something by LMB, probably Cordelia's Honor (two books in one!). A Yeats anthology, and probably a Billy Collins anthology as well. Connie Willis' Passage should go on there as well. And finally...grrr, this is hard without being able to look my bookcase at home over at will...um...Cecila Dart-Thornton's first book, The Ill-Made Mute, is coming to mind as book number five, although I wouldn't want to leave A Civil Campaign behind... Or oooh, Neil Gaiman's Stardust...

Ask me tomorrow, and this will all have changed. I guarantee it.

(And, you know, 1,001 Ways to Use Coconut in Cooking or How Not to Attract the Attention of Desert Island Cannibals might be good choices, too. But anyway.)

Who are you going to pass this stick to (3 persons) and why?

Ooooh, evil...

[livejournal.com profile] shaye, because she introduced me to I Capture the Castle, and I've hooked her on a few authors over the years, so turnabout is fair play ;)
[livejournal.com profile] stars_like_dust, because I think, but am not sure, that we might have similar tastes
[livejournal.com profile] nickless, because I respect her taste in many things, including books
