Busy like a bee

So. You could say I've been busy this weekend. In fact, I've spent most of my waking hours since Saturday morning on my 15 pages for Advanced Fiction and poking a bit here and there at comps. Writing is both invigorating and exhausting (which I suppose is better than just exhausting, like other things I could name), but it is also time-consuming. Then there was research for the geography presentation in Mongolian Empire (because we're all in 8th grade), and here I am.
I did take time out to hijack the big TV in Peter's room--not to mention Ellen, Chandra, Kate, Meg, and Peter himself--for a viewing of The Cutting Edge Hee. Toooooepick! Then Meg decided she wanted to go ice skating, a plan which I wholeheartedly support, so we're going Saturday. 3.5 years after I'd first planned to check it out, I'm finally going to the Newark ice rink.
Saturday is also Phling. And the orchestra concert. Nope, no work getting done then. Which means I need to figure out a topic for my Prac&Theory research paper this week. I am...at a loss. ( Potential topics )
And last night was our first Svetlana lesson of the new semester. Because we had a couple new people, she had us go 'round and introduce ourselves. So now she knows my name again, which means she can now criticise me from all corners of the room, instead of just when she's in front of me and can use "you." This is both good and bad. Good in that I may, by some miracle, actually get better, and bad because I think she may have broken something when she started twisting my hips for me in the spiffy new Jive combo. Ow. Also, I swear, I'm going to sit out the next time we do chaine turns. GAH, I hate those things. I hated them in ballet, I hate them now that they're in ballroom and five times faster.
I still have way too much reading to do tonight, after spending an extra hour at ballroom playing "Never Have I Ever." (Which, by the way, I so win, especially when we get to the purity test items, 'cause I am Great Big Prude.)
