Guess who got on the long list for the Booker Prize. Yeah, your favorite guy in the world, Barry Unsworth.

Claire Messud is on there, too. (Didn't she teach poetry when she was at Kenyon? Maybe I'm making things up. And I had no idea she was British. Huh.)
Of all the titles on there, the only one I'd heard of was Sarah Waters's The Night Watch, which I tried to read last month and couldn't get into. Gathering the Water sounds sort of interesting, though.
