icepixie: (Fraser hat)
I have nothing really interesting to say about it, but I watched "All the Queen's Horses" the other day, and...dude, it's an episode involving Mounties running around on top of moving trains, and then the bad guys are captured by more Mounties on horses, riding in formation, carrying battle lances. I have to at least comment.

And so I will say three things: First and foremost: Uh, Fraser? Meg? Have you heard the phrase "There's a time and a place"? You might look into it at some point. (I think I would have less rolling of eyes at the cheesy dialogue and the kiss on top of the train car that follows it if I'd seen any of the previous episodes involving Meg. Which I will, once my DVDs get here! Woo!)

Second, no way did Vecchio actually make that jump onto the train. But it was pretty funny.

Third, this is the third thing I've seen that was written by Paul Gross. There appear to be two unifying themes to his work: Wild 'n' crazy Canadians doing wild 'n' crazy Canadian things (Mounties to the rescue on boats, Mounties to the rescue on horses, lots of time and effort into winning a curling match), and Paul Gross getting to kiss a pretty girl(s).

Of course, I only have a limited sample size I'm drawing from. Still, I think these are reasonable conclusions. ;)

I also watched "Spy vs. Spy." Hee! Martha Burns makes a good Natashaesque villain, down to the laughably/intentionally bad Russian accent. (You could hear all her Canadian vowels the entire time she was speaking. *g*) And a special guest-starring Mountie in the ballet! Heh. I think I'll need to screencap some of that sequence.

BSG gets a fourth season.

Best of all: it's a thirteen-episode season. I am totally prophetic!

(Spoilers for unaired eps in the first link [easy to skip, I did], spoilers for last night's ep in the second.)
