icepixie: (Dancing on starlight)
I am officially a Christopher Moore fan, y'all. I read The Stupidest Angel in, like, a day. It wasn't earthshatteringly awesome or anything, but it was damn funny, and a nice quick read. And it involved zombies at Christmas, always a good thing.

I'm working my way through the one Dorothy Sayers I picked up, Have His Carcase. (I wanted to start with Strong Poison, but it was checked out.) Harriet Vane is so far very, very much a combination of who I am and who I'd like to be. It's a bit scary.

Will take a look at the other recs I received last week this weekend. I did attempt a Tamora Pierce, and...I think my patience for preteens and talking animals, while never particularly stretchy and well-fed, has worn too thin for her stuff. Or possibly it has to do with my loathing of children. That may be part of it. (I think a large part of the reason I liked the Redwall books and Watership Down was the significant lack of humans.)

I've recently gotten sucked back into the Furutama reruns in Adult Swim. Damn you, Cartoon Network! I think I missed a season or so last time I watched them, because I'm seeing a bunch I have no recollection of. Now I may need icons...

I almost forgot! I discovered the most awesome webcomic the other day: The New Adventures of Queen Victoria. Queen Victoria, Price Edward, and Queen Elizabeth I, along with visitors such as the Virgin Mary, take on the modern day!

I think my favorite is this one, which is not exactly typical of the strip, but is definitely good for a lol.
