Alas. I have two half-finished things that I would like to join into the same story, because they treat the first and second halves of the same event. My only problem is that one is in present tense, and one is in past (and for various reasons, both need to stay in the tense they're in). The tone is also different enough that I'm not sure they would work well together even if I could get over the tense issues.
Maybe I'll just call them part one and part two of a two-part series or something. Well, okay, technically parts four and five of a soon-to-be-six-part series, but anyway...*
* Why, yes, it would be this series. I don't know what possesses me to write kidfic, but...it's kinda fun?

Speaking of fic...is it just me, or is anyone else fascinated by hit counts at the AO3? I check mine maybe once every couple of weeks, because it intrigues me to see what fandoms, pairings, etc., that I've written are popular or not. I was less-than-surprised to find my one entirely Ivanova/Marcus fic (Amo, Amas, I Love a Lass) quickly made its way to the top of my hit counts, since it's a popular pairing, but I was surprised to see it gain about 70 hits in the span of roughly two weeks. I assume someone somewhere recently linked to it. (The idea of this fills me with SQUEE!)
Given that it has three different Ivanova pairings in it, Five Things that Never Happened to Susan Ivanova taking second place also doesn't shock me, but I was pleasantly surprised to find Two Parts Vodka, One Part Vermouth (A Love Story) and a couple of the Astaire/Rogers moviefics up as high as they were. My evil plan is that one day I will inspire someone else to write Ivanova/Garibaldi fic and/or musicalfic. *rubs hands together evilly*
If you have the hit counter option set up on your account, what intrigues you about your stats?
