My lunge (on my right side) has gotten pretty awesome of late. Today I surprised myself by stretching my leg so far that the hooks of my boot scraped the ice, which is pretty darned impressive for an adult. (I'm sure the kids and the pros can get their entire calf on the ice, but I have goals appropriate to my age.)
I also appear to have mysteriously acquired a halfway decent tango stop!* This despite not practicing it for a month, and not being very good at it when I last attempted it. I wonder if this magic would work for inside three turns?
Finally, I have figured out power pulls. ...Mostly. On the right leg. Mine feel a lot tinier than that person's, but they exist! The left leg...let us not talk about the left leg. My left leg disdains the outside edge of my skate blade, so doing anything that requires leaning left is twice as difficult as anything that doesn't. (Hence why my CCW crossovers are noticeably worse than my CW ones.)
I experimented with spinning CW, and...you know, I kinda liked it. It wasn't that much worse than my CCW spin, which is still atrocious. On the other hand, my waltz jump doesn't exist going CW. Of course, half the time it doesn't exist going CCW either, so I don't know that this proves anything. Perhaps I am ambidirectional? That could make for some nifty choreography.
* OMG, my lunge is deeper than Michelle Kwan's there. I'm sure she can do better ones, but I'm going to gloat for a minute.
