Iced out

Well, thank you, Mother Nature. Instead of the 5" of plowable snow I was promised, you gave me half an inch of unmelting ice, some sleet on top, and maybe snow to follow, though frankly they've been saying that for a while and it's still a sleetfest/freezing rain fiesta at my house. That's just great. I'm having visions of '94.

I'm using a vacation day to stay home from work today (some vacation), and it looks like it'll be too icy to pick up my skates from the sharpener tonight. THE IRONY.

Assorted Agent Carter fandom stuff

Three observations on dipping various toes into Agent Carter fic and Tumblr:

1. I had forgotten what it was like to be in a big fandom. Or, really, a medium-sized fandom. I ignore the A03 category for a week and there's, like, eight pages of fic. Do you know how much I would give for eight new fics, period, a year in most of my fandoms?

2. Okay, what's up with calling yourself and things you like "trash" and "garbage" on Tumblr? Is the fact that I cannot comprehend why anyone would do this a sign I've gotten irretrievably old? Or is it just a sign that Tumblr is made of foolishness?

3. WHY DO YOU HAVE SIX-POINT TEXT IN YOUR LAYOUT AND EXPECT ANYONE TO READ IT ARRRRRGGGHHHH I thought we got over this when Geocities died.

As you might have suspected all of this means, I have fallen down the rabbit hole that is Carter/Thompson. *hands* I swear, I didn't mean to, especially when Carter/Angie is right there, but bickering and grudging respect are the rocks my ships are built on, and of all the characters on this show they have the most of both of those qualities. (Also, I really kind of like that Thompson goes from dismissively handing her things to file in the first episode to being so terrified of her that he insists on handcuffing even even when Dottie has already drugged her. Heh.)
