It's not the underage drinking I'm boggling at (although the thought of a university running bars and passing out free drinks to students at special functions does weird me out, as our drinking age is 21 and campus security at Kenyon spends a fair amount of tiem busting underage drinkers at parties), it's more the sheer number of events that involve alcohol in some way, and the way the university seems to cater to that. I mean, my school has a specific program that gives money to students who organize non-alcoholic events on Fridays and Saturdays in order to give people an alternative to going out partying and drinking, while this one seems to encourage drinking. It's just entirely different from what I'm used to. I think drinking at any age is accepted more in Europe; no Puritan roots to overcome. ;)
I'm sure if you've read my journal you'd think I'm an alcoholic amount I seem to go down the pub ;)
Bwahaha! For what it's worth, I don't think that at all. ;)
