Ballroomed!
Oct. 5th, 2004 10:43 pmYay, ballroom! Tonight's "improvers" class (their version of intermediate, I think) was somewhere in between a Ksenia lesson and an Igor lesson, thought tilted more toward the Igor side of things. And it only lasts two hours, started on time, and stopped only ten minutes after they said it would. Wow, ballroom that almost runs on time. ;) I already found the Exeter equivalents of Ksenia, Grace, and David. Heh. They have a man and a woman instructor who apparently do all the lessons; they're nice folks, although I wasn't always able to understand the man's accent. We did a nice, short International Tango combination that I figured out almost immediately, woo-hoo! Of course, to counter that was an insanely long International Foxtrot combo that gets you all the way around a rather large floor. It includes three heel turns. Three. Dying now, yeah. No happy, easy, American Smooth dances to help me out. But if I keep it up, I'll be fabulous at International dances when I come back to Kenyon...
They said that the other weekly intermediate/advanced class would be more of the same, but unfortunately, it usually meets on Thursdays, which is the same day as choir, so... Probably it's best that way; gotta study at some point, you know. ;) Sometimes it meets on Fridays, so I'll go then.
*cha-chas around room* It feels so nice to dance again after such a long summer.
