Jan. 18th, 2005 09:06 pmWhoa. What a cool episode, and even though it was Teyla-heavy, I didn't feel like sporking my eyes out! I actually liked her in this ep! It's gotta be the hair. ;) Anyway, yes...better than the last few they've produced (caveat: I have yet to see "Letters from Pegasus," 'cause the sound won't work on the one I got from
cleverocity--who rocks a whole lot, BTW). Didn't look at my watch once the whole time, which hasn't been the case since about mid-season for Atlantis, and since god knows when for SG-1. Loved the mythology getting built up--way cool info about the DNA experiements and how the Wraith evolved.
The only thing that bugged me, though, was the end, and it may just be me--for some reason, I thought the Wraith already knew that Atlantis was the way to get to Earth/the Milky Way. Is this not true? My memory is fuzzy. Anyway, seemed like they were just saying something we already knew. Perhaps I'm insane.
Little things:
- Rodney and Zelenka having a bet on whether the Wraith had evolved before or after the Ancients. How totally them is that? Heh. I love that they have so many scenes together. "I was saying that"/"You were taking too long, as usual" was classic.
- So glad Lizzie got something to do this ep besides rubber-stamp other people's ideas and wait around for teams to come back. Awesome that she can translate stuff.
- When she first showed up, I just knew the psychologist was gonna be a Wraith spy/want to lock people up/otherwise be evil. Glad they avoided that particular cliche. And I'm betting that McKay's lying about "seeing" her. He and Carson and Zelenka are having a threesome, remember? ;)
- Teyla/Ford is the best ship of convenience ever. Nice sccene with them alone in the infirmary. *awwws*
- Ummm...I had other stuff, but I've forgotten. Ah well. Fabulous ep. More along these lines, please.

In other news, after The Shortest Doctor's Appointment Everâ„¢, I got diagnosed with a sinus infection and some pretty antibiotics to take for a week. Maybe now my headache will go away. Not to mention the congestion I've developed.
