Yep.

I've read that, and I highly enjoyed the first book (though I consider it one of the most desturbing things I have ever read) but I didn't enjoy the other two as much.

You thought the first one was disturbing? I actually thought it seemed like a more modern, more colorful LOTR. I found the second one starting to get weird, and so far,t he third is really weird--I'm only halfway thorugh, and I'm kind of worried about the second half. I've liked the first one better so far as well. All the Paradise Lost stuff is just...odd. It's like a hard left at Albuquerque from what the series started out as.
