Thanks for the info. It looks like the places that looked pretty require, like, four-hour bus trips to get to because nothing goes directly between places I'd like to be. So what I think I'm going to do is take a morning train from Inverness to Eileen Donan castle and Kyle of Lochalsh (on the mainland right across from Skye; you probably went to the castle), stay the night, and leave the next morning. Time constraints and sanity-keeping measures mean that I can't really do much else, but hopefully I'll at least get a taste of the area. The train trip between Inverness and Lochalsh is supposed to be the most beautiful in the country.
