Oh hell, I don't really remember right now, but I know Sydney met her mom in the S1 finale, S2 premiere, Laura was a teacher but I think it was more along the lines of 6th grade not college and we found out her mom was a) alive, b) evil in the latter half of S1, like ep 17 or after I think.
