Mmmm, probably. I enjoyed most of the components of the mini, but the whole didn't rise above them for me like it seems to have done for several people on my flist and an SF forum I frequent. (Maybe you had to have seen the original?) Perhaps I'll have a better reaction to the series.
however, the octogonal paper is a direct link to the original series.
