Sci-Fi Friday!
Jul. 22nd, 2005 10:42 pmSG-1: Avalon 2
- "I didn't hear any screaming or squishing sounds." Well, that's always good news.
- And the swords are actually lightsabers. They look like they're acting out a videogame.
- And of course Vala took something. Shades of Chiana, I swear.
- Best shot of the night: Vala pouring gold coins over herself while wearing a sparkly tiara. HEE!
- Okay, enough with the spinny camera. Seasickness, people.
- And Stargate is now Doctor Who. (Or is it Quantum Leap where the guy jumps into other people's bodies? I never could keep them straight.)
- The new doc looks kind of like Janet at first glance. *mourns* And I'm guessing she's General Whatshisname's ex-wife?
- Claudia's expression at the end of the prostration ceremony! OMG! *cackles*
- There's a part of me that very much wants to ship Daniel/Vala, but a larger part of me thinks they'll end up with more of a sibling relationship. Of course, I think that about practically every woman Daniel comes in contact with. It may just be him.
- So...resurrection? And was it just me, or was the boiling oil funnel thingy shaped a bit like a cross? (I'm probably reading too much into that.)
Atlantis: The Intruder
- OMGSQUEE! Coffee scene, coffee scene, coffee scene! *does dance of shipper joy* And the conversation, and the joking about Shep's promotion, and and and...they are so doing it. Dude.
- 18 days together on a ship where they aren't doing much? There better be fic about this. Yes.
- Aw, Lizzie's sticking up for John! "You're just going to have to promote him." Wheee!
- There's a teeny tiny bit of me that ever so slightly wants to ship Lizzie/Carson. Kind of.
- "'Crap,' indeed." Heh.
- "Don't worry, we're not about to give up on you just yet." *basks in shipperiness*
- Ford's family! Woot!
- The cut with the match was awesome. In other superficial observations, I love Weir's shirt in the dinner-with-Simon scene.
- No more Simon, woo-hoo!
- Hey, an "Entity" ref! Interesting that they did it on this show, when I was thinking about that ep all during SG-1.
- And of course, Rodney makes himself tiny to avoid beaming into a wall. Naturally.
- Conserving air by not talking. Ha!
- Shouldn't basically everyone be wearing sunglasses? What happened to those snazzy Willy Wonka shades from last week?
- From a certain angle, the F-302 looks like a dark Cylon Raider. And all my shows meld into one.
- Heh, Lizzie's complimenting John's moves. Someone should write a fic where he takes her in a flight sim and lets her fly something.
- Dude, Rodney...now is not the time to be complaining about sunburn. Seriously.
- Teyla's new hair is pretty. (It is new hair, right? Sort of new, anyway?)
- Um, was Teyla in charge while they were gone? 'Cause that scares me a bit.
- This was a very full-feeling episode. Lots of stuff covered in a little amount of time. Very nice. (Also? BEST SHEP/WEIR EPISODE YET.)
BSG: Uh...whatever the title was
- BSG, unlike Atlantis, felt like it covered very little in a large amount of time. Okay, that's not exactly true, as they did get a lot done, but there wasn't any change in the status quo on the cliffhangers from last season. (Well, Socinus died, but that's it.) Adama's still out of commission, Roslin's still in prison, Starbuck and Helo are still on Caprica, the Kobol team is still on Kobol. We learned some new stuff (like Kara and her paintings), but moving one of the plotlines along in the next episode would not go amiss. Really, it wouldn't.
- Two computer virii in one week. Fun times.
- Apparently tonight is the night of "I want to ship, but it would be incestuous." This time it's Tyrol and Cally, who give off such a big brother/little sister vibe I'm starting to wonder if they actually are related, but part of me still wants to ship them. Sigh.
- Also, Tyrol just about made me cry over Socinus. *sniffle* Best part of the ep right there. Aaron Douglas is awesome.
- Who was it who said something like "You know they have eight-sided dice in this universe"? Was it you,
zeplum? 'Cause I really have to agree. *g*
- Was that a BC license plate on Kara's Jeep? *giggle*
- Loved the piano music this week.

Date: 2005-07-23 06:20 am (UTC)He covered his crotch. THAT had me howling. John looking at him like, dude, you are so screwed up.
I was SO in love with Elizabeth in this episode. She was so hardcore, telling off all those military assholes, getting her man a promotion in the process. SO fantastic. "Don't fight me on this." HEH!!!
Was she wearing a shirt or a dress? I thought it was a dress? I'm too tired to go back and check.
The stuff with Simon. Sigh. Well, she's got it outta her system, now. Time to see the hottness that is before her and "trade up." :)

Date: 2005-07-29 09:17 pm (UTC)I was thinking ex-wife or daughter. No idea what her name was, though, so I'll just call her Andromeda. ;D I think she's on the 4400 now, too. /random

I agree. Part of me was totally shipping when Daniel went to hold what was left of her after purge-by-fire ceremony, but all the other times they were together made me think of how I used to annoy the hell out of my brothers when I was little. :)
(also? Claudia almost made me cry during the fire thing. Just one more notch to add to the "Why the hell hasn't this woman got an Emmy yet" stick)
- There's a teeny tiny bit of me that ever so slightly wants to ship Lizzie/Carson. Kind of.
Me, too
- And of course, Rodney makes himself tiny to avoid beaming into a wall. Naturally.
That made me giggle, though I was more of the opinion he was trying to keep certain parts of his autonomy from getting stuck in a wall. ;)
- Loved the piano music this week.
That was the only thing I commented on through out all 4 hours of Sci Fi friday. Dude, I really hope Kara bought that music chip thingy with her when they left.
