You know, now that I think about the ships...it's a funny thing.
The first time I watched the eps, intellectually I appreciated them, but I didn't feel the strong emotional attachment. But the second time I watched, I found myself shipping for them all a lot harder...especially for Mal & Inara. I think Nathan and Morena do have great chemistry, but it's subtle...Joss described Mal/Inara as a 30's romantic comedy, and I think he's right...and I've fallen in love with that.
(Then there's the interview I read recently where Nathan Fillion said he'd rather Mal & Inara remain apart until Mal's deathbed, citing the old Moonlighting example for why UST can't be resolved...and I wanted to punch him like Mal himself would, then force him to sit down and watch all of Farscape. But that's neither here nor there. *snerk*)
