I dunno on Shep/Weir...so far I got nothing... Honestly...I think the problem is Weir. She's not won me over yet. So far she seems...a little arrogant. Friendly-arrogant, but arrogant nonetheless. And it seems like she keeps doing things that are actually rather foolhardy, but she gets away with them because the writers let her. Like getting all snarky-confrontational with the Wraith-collaborators on the world with the island prison. The smart thing woulda been to get your people quietly the heck out of there, smiling and nodding all the way, it seems to me.
And Beckett/McKay? Sure, I could see that in the bodyswap ep. Heheh.
Definitely be interested to hear your take on Serenity!
And I'm not up enough on my movies to give examples, but I definitely think there's a strain of more eriadite 30s romantic comedies like I was describing, all witty banter and snazzy parties. (Sort of the Much Ado style.) And that's soooooo Mal/Inara.
