Schedule settling

icepixieMongolian Empire, while not as intrinisically exciting to my English major self as P&T, should at least be interesting and different from anything I've done before (i.e. Modern Europe). We're doing more presentations--oh, for joy *rolls eyes*--and some almost anthropological types of small essays. There is no midterm (YES). The final can be replaced by a 10-page research paper, too. Awesome. The class can count for either history or religious studies credit, which is...interesting. Hmm. Also, the Mongols apparently attract boys. There are 22 students in the class, of which 4, including myself, are female. I don't think I've ever been in such a gender-imbalanced (toward the guys) class before.
As you may have surmised, I ended up dropping Victorian World. It probably would've been a good class, and I admit I'm a little sad about leaving Kenyon without one more critical lit class under my belt (although part of me is still trying to detox from the excess of literature classes last year). However, it was going to be based largely on historical context and criticism, and...I took that class last semester in the history department, y'know? Also, I want my history minor. I'd audit it, except that for discussion-based English classes, there's no real point. It frees up practically no extra time.
Anyway, dropping that class means that my Tuesdays are no longer OF DOOM, which is fantastic. It'll be nice to have a relatively sane schedule after last semester.
Speaking of time, I'm sad I can't be on the search committee for a new history professor. I got asked this morning, but it all kind of happens right before comps are due. Stupid comps. *kicks them*
