icepixieFinally wrote something new. Okay, so it steals heavily from Millay's "Ebb," but after four or five months of not writing anything remotely poetic, I'm taking what I can get. I'm about to start issuing challenges so someone will take up the topics I can't seem to get on paper tonight... Anyway, I'll call this a writing excercise and leave it at that.
"Drying"
Drying from the outside in,
my heart watches you
go out with the tide.
A tiny pool that shrinks steadily,
waiting for a wave
that will never come
and darken sand
with your footprints again.

Have idea for fluffy/angsty Sam/Jack Christmas fic. Sigh. When it actually gets to be December, watch me write Independence Day fic. (Which I also have a vauge idea for, BTW. Not fleshed-out enough in my mind to actually put anything on paper, though)

And finally, I just saw a commercial for CBS' new show, Cupid. *sighs* How quickly they forget... Even though I never saw an episode beyond some mpeg clips, I still liked reading fic for ABC's Cupid. Actually, I wrote a fic for that show...one that could be completed with a few sentences...but which will probably never see the light of day, because I still have some self-respect, and am not a complete fan-whore. Yet.
