Digital cameras are so much fun...

ETA, June 2006: All photos can now be found here.

Northernhay/Rougemont Gardens

The Whomping Willow lives in Exeter, apparently.
We keep finding these little nooks in walls that just call out for statues, and we have to oblige...
The University of Exeter, as seen from Northernhay Gardens.
Still trying to accept the whole palm-trees-in-England thing...
Not to mention the bamboo.
Entrance to Rougemont Castle, which is now an ubersecure court of law or something like that which normal people can't go into.
Window in the main entrance tower to the castle.
It's England. Castles happen. I take pictures of their towers rising out of the trees.
Some ambitious moss on the castle wall.
Some enterprising clover on the same wall.
No idea what church or building those are, but they're pretty, so I took their picture. Several times.
Ooooh, spooky tree.
Picturesque hills over Exeter.
So picturesque, I think my head might explode.
Stewart, Whitney, and Chandra posing with cannons at Rougemont Castle.
Firing the canons!

The Quayside

Once upon a time, the River Exe ran under this bridge. Um, I think. I didn't actually read the sign, I just took pictures and tried not to run into any hobos...
Yes, we are tourists.
Whitney and Chandra plotting to take over the world, one cannon at a time.
Stewart joins them, and they pretend they aren't preparing dastardly plots.
Picturesque bridge over the river.
Aw, the ducks like to play fetch with grimy tennis balls too!
Ahhh! More swans! *runs away*
The pillway/lock/dam/whatever on the River Exe.
There's a lot of seagulls here. Not to mention bridges.
Same bridge at a better angle without the birds.
Exeter as seen from the river, with the cathedral spire dominating all.
The river from the other side of the bridge. Ah, peaceful.
Rowboat in the river.
The ha-ha!
Another spiffy-looking pedestrian bridge.
Yet another church spire. You might be getting the impression that Exeter has a lot of churches, but really it's that they're the only things you can see over all the freaking hills, so I take their picture a lot.
Whitney, Chandra, Ellen and Stewart standing on yet another bridge.

Stourhead

A truly massive tree on the grounds.
The temple of Apollo, or something like that. Pretty, anyway.
Bob Ross would be in ecstasy.
Grotto'ed!
More pretty with the lake and the bridge and the church.
