Ahhh, Aliens of London...

Not one of the best eps of the season, true, but...well, there's bad news and good news.

The bad news: I'd actually say "The Long Game" is the weakest link of the season.

The good news: World War Three picks up quite a bit, I'd say...and actually has some really good stuff for Mickey. I actually kind of like the guy, and that ep is a decent chunk of why.

Plus, AoL itself I enjoy more each time I watch it (watching it during the rerun again now :?P). The parts you mentioned are all great, and I also love...

* Rose insisting the Doctor isn't her boyfriend, he's "better than that". I love that complex side of their relationship, and I love the whole thematic side about living your life in a bigger world.

* The stuff with the Doctor in the morgue. The way he just snaps with authority and the troops fall in--a little ridiculous, yes, but classic Doctor. His upset and anger over the poor augmented spacepig. :?(

* The Doc's squee about humanity's big steps into the universe and history.

So yeah...not a grand slam of an ep, but a solid, fun story. I still loves it. :?P
