I'm cracking physics jokes in a fic. Should I just put a big "geek!" sign on my forehead? (And should it bother me more that I'm making the jokes themselves or that I know enough about the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle and other quantum mechanical things to make them?)

Ahem. Yes, I had a life as a theoretical astrophysicist all planned out for myself from ages eleven to thirteen which died an inglorious death when I hit algebra in eighth grade. Well, it had some little sputters of life that year, when I was sure I would double major in English and physics and write sci-fi novels about my astrophysics research, but I soon realized that math and I would never be friends, and, thus, physics and I would remain ever separate, divided by a gulf, star-crossed lovers, "never the twain shall meet," etc. etc. etc.

Besides, I soon found out how much fun geeking English could be. *eg*

Various family members are arriving at my aunt and uncle's house (which is next door) tomorrow. They're bringing friends and staying for about a week. If I'm not around much, that would be why. Yay for family gatherings. [/intense sarcasm]
