You know me well. I've read Mother Tongue three times, and will probably read it again in the near future. The sequel (Made In America) isn't very good, though.
The Sacks book sounds fascinating. I have a love/hate relationship with letters such as C and Q and X. On the one hand, they're not necessary. On the other, they're so elegant! Especially C's. I love C's. Perhaps it's perverse of me. I just think they carry themselves with a poise that no S or K has ever pulled off.
