Ooooh, spiffy! My most favorite band ever, Hem, is going to release a new album in early September. Wheeee! And they recently released a collection of covers and live versions of things that I hadn't heard about yet, which is on iTunes. Some of the alternate versions aren't that great, but the live version of "Idle" is fantastic (and I really, really like the original), and some of the covers are very nice.

If you haven't heard me babble about this band before, they're kind of...well, imagine John Williams, Dave Matthews, and Alison Krauss put their heads together and came up with some music, and got Dar Williams to help with the lyrics. It's a bit like that. Their last album involved steel guitar, banjo, and the Slovakian National Orchestra, and made it work really nicely. Also, the singer's voice is amazingly gorgeous.
