Wicklow is gorgeous. Hell, it's difficult to find anywhere over there that isn't, outside of the more urban areas (I think the most beautiful place I saw over there was the Glen of Aherlow, in County Tipperary, where the mountains change color as the sun sets over them--stunning!).
A lot of DVD players can be hacked to Region 0 (region-free) pretty easily these days. I got my Memorex at Target back in May on sale for $35 (I think the regular price was $45) and hacking it was the work of maybe 30 seconds. It's a beautiful thing. You may be able to hack the one you already have--google the model number with "region-free" and see what you come up with. If not, you should be able to find something without breaking the bank. :)
