CSI:NY and Halloween

Crime and medical procedurals are two of my least favorite forms of television. Okay, Big Brother and such are worse, but procedurals? Not really my cup of tea.^[1]

That said, I watched CSI:NY last night. (Tell me I'm not the only one who consistently misreads that as CSNY, aka Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. And I don't think I've ever even heard their music.) I can't imagine why that franchise gets so many viewers, and then makes the kids want to go into forensics. *rolls eyes* Was that especially gratuitous, or do they usually do that?

I was watching because wildtiger7's LJ banner made Danny and Lindsay look so freakin' adorable that I couldn't help myself. And while there wasn't much cuteness in this episode, I can see the potential. I'm debating whether I want to actually watch more of this show, or just keep an eye out for squee and then look up clips and caps and stuff. Hmmm.

Anyway, after one episode, I am placing a bet on what Lindsay's Deep Dark Secret is. I think she had a boyfriend in Montana. Said boyfriend committed some sort of crime, which she investigated in her role as a CSI, and discovered he was the perpetrator, thus sending him off to jail. (After agonizing over whether to do it or not, of course, and maybe even some confronting him before she went to her superiors and him getting freaked out/threatening/whatever.) She got to break the news to his mother, who went ballistic on her for being the person who found the evidence. Hence, can't deal with mothers or with boys.

^[1] Although I did watch quite a bit of Law & Order during middle school. But that was more a function of wanting to stay up late watching TV with my dad than it was actually liking it that much.
