:) do you think that maybe the size of the empire had something to do with it as well? It was huge, too big for the romans to control it all, which led to hiring mercenaries to fight for them, and basically inviting barbarians to come? (i read a book about the last roman emperor, and this was mentioned and i thought it was interesting actually)
