And it involved Jadzia and Julian ending up together, because at the time I was a die-hard shipper and still bitter over the whole Worf thing.

Bwah! Yeah, at a certain point in the show, you just had to admit, "Okay, no, Julian and Jadzia WOULD NEVER WORK." (I forget, didn't Julian and Ezri end up together? Because she was immature and spastic enough for that to actually work...)

And...well, for the average 14-year-old it wasn't all that bad, but it was still very obviously written by a 14-year-old.
