Cool - I want to see it, but was waiting for someone to comment about it.
It's definitely one you should see ona big screen to appreciate the full glory of the panorama shots and the special effects.
The ship is there - when they escape from the witch-chick, they wind up on a cloud, and the ship "rescues" them. However, the captain is decidedly NOT flamboyant, at least not the way I remember him!
Yeah, I can't say as i remember any cross-dressers in the book...
I read something about that - it was the Scottish Highlands and Iceland, primarily. Which dude, totally explains it. I can't find the site that talked all about it, though. *pout*
Wikipedia says most of it was filled in the western highlands and on the Isle of Skye, with the village scenes being shot somewhere in Hereford or Hertford or somewhere in the midlands. I didn't notice anything about Iceland, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of it was filmed there.
