- I love the Tim Burtonesque design and the funky cinematography. Way cool.

Yeah, it was exceedingly Big Fish...

- Not totally wild about the narrator, but I think part of it is that it's also the pilot, which is saddled with exposition anyway. But the "X years, Y weeks, Z hours and Q minutes" formula is going to grate if they continue it past this episode.

That voice just screams, "Aww, we wanted Stephen Fry, but we couldn't afford him." The narrator distanced me from the story a bit, I think. Or something did. Maybe the bad picture quality on my tv? Anyway, something felt off. Still good, though.

- Let me just say right now that I love Lee Pace. Especially when he's trying despearately to fend off Kristin Chenoweth's advances. Bwah!

Yes! He is win.

- The mechanical dog-petting hand! Ha!

We totally have one of those at work! Except less awesome, of course. [covets]

But...I guess he saved another dog? Because wouldn't the original dog that got hit by a truck 20 years earlier be dead of some other cause by now? I didn't think the gift granted immortality...

It's the same dog. I get the impression there's some unnatural time-freezing going on, or something along those lines....

Perhaps they should become penpals, and carry on a tempestuous romance through words.

Uh huh. 'Cause they're not gonna milk this for every available ounce of angst AT ALL. Yay for nefarious subtext!

Didja ever watch the Torchwood premiere? Because... it had the exact same interrogate-murder-victims-to-solve-crime premise. Sketchy... Of course, PD has other things going for it, like... everything... Will definitely be watching next week. IMDb seems to think they've made six eps already, so at least we've got that much if they ax it...
