Fraser and beer: Huh. That's really interesting. It never would've occured to me, either. (Down here, everything from beer to make-you-go-blind proof moonshine is generally put in the "Don't drink it; it's bad for you and will disrupt your moral compass" category, with no consideration given to amounts of alcohol in different types of drink.)

And you can get wine in most bars, it's just going to be really, really bad wine that a true wine drinker wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole. The kind that comes out of a box.
