Poooooonies

I drove down to Shelbyville and environs yesterday on a mission to take some horse pictures. And so I did. I also ran into a very needy cat, got assaulted for food by some ponies (I think? They were too small to be real horses, too big to be miniature horses, so...ponies? Small, stunted ones?), and stumbled upon a tractor parade in Lynchburg.

Ponies? Really tiny horses? Their heads were about at the level of my waist, if that helps.



This isn't from Shelbyville, or even October, but rather from around the Stones River last month.

Thanks! I loved the way the white bark reflected the colors of the sunset.

(I think I may have miscategorized that as a sycamore--looking more closely at the leaves makes me think it might in fact be a London Plane. Eh, they're pretty much the same tree...)

The waist-highs might be mini horses, but then again, I'm not too knowledgeable on the too-short-to-ride breeds. In any case... pooooooooonies!

Well, the little ones were definitely bigger than the minis we saw at that place in Dartmoor, but I'm not necessarily sure they were big enough to be ponies, either. It's a mystery.
