Yep. Spamming the LJ 'cause all the fic sites I regularly check have either just been updated and I read it all, haven't been updated in a while, or won't be updated for a but longer, and I don't wanna go to bed, or write, or do anything constructive, basically.

It always amazes me how Annie Lennox can sound so freaking bright and bubbly and synthesized and happy while singing about how "her" life was shattered because of a breakup. Fisher does that kind of thing, too, as do DMB, Smash Mouth, Gaelic Storm, and various others on occasion. Hmmm. Perhaps that's the way to describe my taste in music: "Stuff that sounds all bright and happy, but once you start singing along, you realize that hoooooly hell, those lyrics are actually about something really really bad."

I looked through some pictures I took at/of Kenyon last fall today so that I could possibly use them to redesign my DeadJournal. Why they were hidden away in one of my dresser drawers instead of in a photo album or box, I don't know, but they were. I didn't end up using any (used something from this site instead), but it pushed me further down the road toward wanting to go back to school. Speaking of which, seventeen more days until move-in day for non-freshmen. Ugh. Yay for my fourth-floor room in a dorm without an elevator. Yep, that'll be fun. At least there's air conditioning, though! And the only time I'll mind it is when we're trying to drag a microwave, a floor lamp, and other heavy stuff up three flights of stairs, along with everyone else who's gonna be living in the building.

Still amazed and giggly at how ballroom took over upperclass wellness housing this year. It's kind of good that they're all on the third floor and I'm on the fourth, though, or I'd never get any work done. It'll be bad enough that they're only a staircase away, and Stewart (non-ballroom buddy, but of rather the same mentality) is on my floor anyway.

I know the "music" field still says Annie Lennox, but over the course of this entry, I've moved on to Stevie Nicks. Yes, it is "women who were with famous bands, got famous on their own, and then went back to singing with aforementioned famous band" night at Becca's house. Woo-woo.

Am thinking about redesigning the main page of my website to actually reflect the "ice and stars" name of my domain. Maybe I'll use bits of Joni Mitchell's "River" in it (much as I love Joni, Holly Cole, a Canadian jazz singer, does that song better, IMO).

And before we descend too far into stream-of-consciousness, I'm gonna go away and...do something. Not sure what. Still don't wanna go to bed.
