fiara. Heh. That was vastly, vastly amusing. Nancing pirates in enough eyeliner for three drag queens off the starboard side!

Mmmm...even without the blond wig and elf ears, Orlando Bloom is still gorgeous. *thud*
Very cool CGI with the undead crew of the Black Pearl, especially the underwater stuff. It was like Tim Burton, only less creepy, more funny, and more realistic-looking (you know, realistic for a bunch of walking skeletons).
Sparrow to Elizabeth: "It would never have worked out between us, my dear."
Me: "Because I'm gayer than a tree full of monkeys!" *snort*
I thought Chiana was my slash-with-just-about-anyone character. Nope. It's Captain Jack Sparrow. He can be slashed with anyone, and I was doing so all through the movie. Show of hands: who thought he had way more chemistry with will than Elizabeth ever thought of having?
And now I have more reading material, courtesy offiara, who gave me The Oxford Book of Ireland, and my mom, who bought me the Hulton Getty Picture Collection of the 1920s, 'cause yay Jazz Age. Yay Fitzgerald and flappers and speakeasies and lindy hop and everything else the Roaring Twenties had to offer. Dorothy Parker was my first poetry love, after all. (I would've showed it to you, Jessica, 'cause I know you like the '20s, but Mom took it with her before I went to meet you. It's $10 at Barnes & Noble for a pretty thick little book that's very, very cool.) For some unfathomable reason, all the text is in English, French, and German, but hey, that's cool, too.
