My dad and I are actually taking a day trip to Knoxville next Friday. I'm not seeing anyone at the school (it's Good Friday, so probably no one will be there, but I have the day off), but we thought we'd just look around, see what the campus is like, check out nearby areas to see where I might like to live if I don't end up in campus housing, just generally get a feel for the place. (Also, I have practically no experience driving on interstates, and my dad's insisting that change, so.) Did you live off-campus ever? Are there particular areas that grad students tend to like? I'll probably have a car, but if I could walk to and from campus, that would be awesome. (The English department is located in McClung Tower, although that may just be offices...dunno how they assign classroom space over there.)
