I think I read 'Behind the attic wall' when i was in elementary school or something. I remember enjoying it a lot, and not in a 'good creepy fun' way either. Can't really remember it though.

I think I had strange taste in reading material as a child. My friends were all hooked on the baby sitter's club and I was reading a series about living life-size rag dolls in london.

if you're on a YA kick might I suggest 'College of Magics' by Caroline Stevermer? One of the few YA books I go back and reread periodically.
