The only things I'm getting from those eight episodes as a unit are: psychics and psychic crimes, creepy men who like Scully, and Scully-is-an-emotional-punching-bag. I have a sudden fear that everything in the movie will turn out really, really badly for her.

I'm trying to approach this like the reunion concert of your favorite band from junior high when the relevant band members are all forty and haven't belted in ten years. All I'm really hoping for is nostalgia and in-jokes, and if we get anything else, it'll be a pleasant surprise.
