The original Robin costume was the red shirt (with green short sleeves), the black and yellow cape, green floppy gloves and boots, and what were basically green briefs. The entire legs were viewable. To be honest, it looked really gay.

As for your tight discussion I followed everything up to "messes up your line."
Essentially, the leg should look like a straight line (no breaks in shape or color) to be more aesthetically pleasing, and footed tan tights with white socks, which is what I wore, don't do that.
And you should be able to control what you say here. Unless you type with your mouth, which could be entertaining.
Perhaps you can be Lieutenant Literal (oooh, alliteration) as well as Captain Obvious... ;)
