Hmmm. Pictures of the renovations to Peirce are up. I think I like what they did to the former courtyard (it is the courtyard area, right?) by roofing it over and putting in comfy chairs, but am very "meh" leaning towards "YOU RUINED IT!!!" about Upper Dempsey. It doesn't complement the Great Hall as well as it used to. The new chandeliers are atrocious.

The new servery looks nice, though. And HUGE. Yay for not being all crowded.

Oooh, it looks so shiny! Lacking its old-skool charm, of course, but if they had to rip it out and replace it, I suppose the results aren't half bad. The atrium looks awesome. I'd be almost afraid to eat from a servery that fancy, though...

I wonder what happened to the awkward body-image painting that used to hang in Dempsey? Maybe it got banished to Lower Dempsey?

...Oh god, I looked at the first photo and then totally freaked out and closed the tab. I mean, not because it looks bad. Just because apparently I CANNOT DEAL WITH KENYON CHANGING IN MY ABSENCE YET. I think I need some more distance. :)

Did you notice that the new Dempsey is called "Thomas Hall"?

I'm glad. If they'd called the new building "Dempsey", they'd be wrong. Dempsey is gone.

Dempsey is gone.

They say something on the site about entering the building through it, which makes me wonder where exactly it is. I was thinking from the placement of the stained glass that it has to be what was once the courtyard between Dempsey and the Great Hall.

That makes the most sense.

Or perhaps to the dumpster?

Aw, I liked it in all its unsettlingness.
